BOUWSTAD Digital Transformation

BOUWSTAD Digital Transformation

The BOUWSTAD website was due for a significant modernisation. The old environment was difficult to navigate due to a complex tree structure of subpages, causing important information to often be buried deep within the site. Working as part of a team, I contributed to a completely new design centred around usability and a clear information structure.

Navigation and structure

The most significant improvement is the restructuring of the menu. Where BOUWSTAD's services were previously tucked away under the 'About us' page, they now have a prominent place in the main navigation. By merging numerous separate pages into a single cohesive overview, the website has become more logical and visitors can find the right information more quickly.

At the client's request, we introduced modern rounded shapes into the design. This gives the website an approachable appearance that aligns well with the company's professional services.

Content in context

Rather than a static page with a long list of standalone downloads, we opted for a contextual approach. Brochures and videos have been placed as strategic calls to action directly alongside the relevant services.

This ensures visitors no longer need to search for additional information; it is presented to them at the moment their interest is sparked. This approach significantly improves usability and ensures the right information is always immediately available where the visitor needs it.

Renewed Knowledge Base

The knowledge base has received a complete upgrade, both on the front and back end. We implemented a filter system, allowing visitors to quickly and precisely search BOUWSTAD's extensive expertise by theme or sector.

Additionally, the content management process has been simplified for the company itself. Thanks to the intuitive CMS setup, staff can now publish and maintain new articles without any technical barriers.
